Research means to do a study, find information more deeply, penetrate further, and undertake a comprehensive review of the subject also is the process of finding solutions to a problem after a thorough study and analysis of the situational factors. On the other hand, research also is the process of gathering information for the purpose of initiating, modifying or completing a survey conducted includes any data gathering, information and facts for the advancement of knowledge.
There are different views of several individuals on
the research and their views are as follows:
- Research is defined as a full investigation be careful, thorough, intelligent and broad-based on a specific subject or subjects, with the aim to increase and expand the knowledge of mankind. (Manheim, 1977)
- Research is problem-solving activities that lead to knowledge and new findings by using methods to identify and question that is being used by scholars in the field. (Helmstadter, 1970)
- Research is an investigation or experimentation aimed at finding and interpreting the facts, to repeat the received theory in practice the use of new discoveries or theories or laws and regulations which are applicable to new or re. (Woolf, 1975)
- Research is the question carefully or testing to obtain or find the information or communication and to develop and validate knowledge available (Rummel and Ballaine - Research and Methodology in Business)
- Scientific research is systematic research methods and refined by using equipment and procedures to obtain meaningful solutions to a problem from the use of methods that would not make sense (Rummel and Ballaine-Research and Methodology in Business)
GENERAL STEPS IN RESEARCH PROCESS
STEP 1: Choose the Topic
Research began with the problem like
researchers saw a lot of problems in the area to be studied.
STEP 2: Focus the Research Question
Reduced research topics by asking
questions on specific research and development related research questions and
goals and objectives of this research center explained.
STEP 3: Design the Study
Select a purposive sampling procedure
and develop and refine a data collection tool.
STEP 4: Collect Data
Conducted focus group, interview
schedule administered, facilitated group discussion to selected topics and
field notes will also be taken during the session.
STEP 5: Analyze Data and Interpret Data
Based on the evidence that has been
analyzed and interpreted, researchers can make inferences and solutions to the
problem studied.
STEP 6: Inform Others
Write the research report, including
conclusions, recommendations and an evaluation of the study. All the research
carried out should be reported in writing or artwork.
